W.A. Smith, pastor of the church, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. The deceased was one of the best known ladies of the ward, she was a consistent Christian and a worthy member of the Berkley Avenue Church, being one of its charter members. She was born in Portsmouth but had spent years of her life in Berkley ward, being among its first residents. She was in the 73rd year of her age and is survived by two sons, W.T. Hyslop and Leonard Hyslop, Jr., both of this city. She was a daughter of the late John and Anna Eliza Pullen of Portsmouth. ************************************************************** The funeral of the late Mrs. Georgeanna Hyslop, widow of Leonard Hyslop, Sr., was conducted from the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the church, and many words of praise were spoken concerning the well lived life of the deceased. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful, expressing the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery. The pallbearers were: George V. Dashiell, Lycurgus Berkley, Captain W.H. Hancock, H.O. Billups, J.V. Tavenner, P.M. Pritchard, Josiah Borum and J.T. Whitehurst. The older son of the deceased, W.T. Hyslop, is ill at his home, suffering from a malignant attack of typhoid pneumonia, and his condition is considered precarious. The family has been forbidden to break the sad intelligence of his mother's death to him.
