Norfolk Virginian August 14, 1876
ANOTHER CITIZEN GONE. - We are called upon to chronicle the death of Mr. J. M. 
Ingersoll, whose sudden illness we announced but a week ago. The sad event took 
place at his residence on Charlotte street Sunday evening at 6 o'clock. His 
funeral took place last evening from his residence at 5 o'clock and was attended 
by a large number of friends and acquaintances.

Additional Comments:
While the burial record state his death was on the 6th, another paper article from 
the 10th says he is sick.  I think he died on the 12th.
