Virginian-Pilot December 21, 1958
NORFOLK — Mrs. Virginia Johnston Iredell, 59, wife of James Iredell, and 
daughter of the late James J. and Mrs. Virginia Wilkinson Johnston, died 
Saturday at 5 a.m. at a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Iredell was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 750 West Princess 
Anne Rd. at the time of her death.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Besides her husband, James Iredell, of Norfolk, she is survived by three 
daughters, Mrs. Lloyd L. Leech Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. George D. 
Heath and Miss Jane Stiles, both of Norfolk; five grandchildren, one brother, J. 
Brooks Johnston of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Frank H. Newton Jr., of Virginia 
Beach, and Mrs. David E. Sweeney of Alexandria.
Funeral services will be conducted at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday 
at noon by the Rev. Edward H. Jones, D.D., pastor; the Rev. Jason L. MacMillan, 
D.D., pastor-emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. George D. 
Heath, associate pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
