She was a retired teacher of 31 years for the Norfolk Public Schools System and was born in Norfolk. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Alberto Iriarte; one son, Miquel A. Iriarte of Norfolk; one sister, Corine Ransom Farrar of Richmond; a devoted cousin, Maurice A. Sanders of Virginia Beach; one uncle, Leon Jackson of Baltimore, Md.; one niece, Kim Y. Farrar; and one nephew, Charles E. Farrar, both of Richmond, Va. A funeral service will be conducted noon Thursday, by the Rev. Kim Neal, in New Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed in church 10 a.m. Thursday, and a wake will be held today from 7 to 8 p.m. Family will assemble at 2834 Mapleton Ave. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
