He was a native of Winton, N.C., but had made his home in this section for the past 28 years. Surviving him are a son, Thomas F. Irvin, of Portsmouth; four daughters, Mrs. William Snyder, of Nansemond County; Mrs. J.G. Loftus, of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Charles Williams, of San Pedro, Calif. and Mrs. J.H. Woodworth, of Portsmouth; 24 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
