NORFOLK - Charles Robert Irwin Sr., 62, of 409 E. Ocean View Ave., the husband of 
Mrs. Edna Mae Adams Irwin and a son of Mrs. Clara Ralston Irwin of Downers Grove, 
Ill., and the late Charles A. Irwin, died in a hospital Friday.
A native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., he had lived here most of his life. He was a 
retired Civil Service employee and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul J. Gunn of 
Downers Grove; a son, Charles R. Irwin Jr. of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Robert F. 
Parker of Sandston; and 10 grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 7 p.m.
A Requiem Mass will be said in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
