Funeral services for Francis Xavier Irwin, who died in Atlanta on Wednesday 
morning were conducted from St. Paul’s Catholic church at 10 o’clock yesterday 
morning. Requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. M. A. L. Irwin, of Dunn, N.C., 
brother of the deceased. He was assisted by Father Warren, of Norfolk, as deacon. 
Father J. J. Brocktrup as subdeacon, and Father J. J. Callahan, as master of 
ceremonies. The funeral sermon was preached by Father J. A. Magri, pastor of St. 
Paul’s. Fathers Philip Brennan, W. T. Whearty and Burns were in the sanctuary. The 
service was largely attended.
The pallbearers were H. C. Nash, D. J. Shea, Jr., William J. Callan, Eldred Grant, 
William Piedmont, Dennis Sullivan, Thomas F. Gallagher and Philip Latimer.
Interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery, Norfolk.
