The accident occurred near the Hospital lighthouse. The other boys, when they saw his danger, went to his rescue, but were unable to reach him before he sank for the last time. We suppose that he could not swim at all, as he was not far from the shore when he went under. Search was made for the child’s body, but it had not been found up to a late hour last evening. Matty was a bright boy, and a great favorite with his companions. The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved parents and brothers and sisters in their sudden and great sorrow.
