The many friends in this city of Mrs. Gail Wemple Irwin will be deeply pained to 
learn of her death which occurred in Portsmouth yesterday afternoon. She had been 
married to Mr. M. A. Irwin but a very short time, and, as Miss Gail Wemple, won 
numerous admirers as an elocutionist of rare power and a young lady possessing 
many charms.

Memorial services in honor of Mrs. Gail Wemple Irwin, who died in Portsmouth on 
the 10th instant, will be held at the Disciples Church, on Freemason street, this 
afternoon at 1 o’clock.
