Isbell, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Isbell, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George W. Winfield, 516 Bank Street, after an illness of several months, were conducted from the home, with the Rev. G. W. Watkins, pastor of Bank Street Baptist Church presiding. The deceased was born in Lynchburg, VA, but came to Norfolk at an early age. He received his training in the public schools of the city and at Virginia State College. His early training in tailoring was received under the late Charles S. Carter. He later graduated from Ferguson and Mitchell’s Cutting and Tailoring School, New York City. He later made his home in New Rochelle, NY, where he established and operated a profitable tailoring business and engaged in real estate transactions, following these vocations until his illness forced him to retire. Believing that a change of climate would aid him, Mr. Isbell came to Virginia, his boyhood home, where he spent his last days. Surviving him are three sisters, Mesdames Lillian B. Johnson, of Chicago; Carrie L. Winfield, Norfolk and Annie R. Tucker, of Philadelphia, other relatives and friends. Interment was in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery.
