Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday January 11, 1936
Mrs. Sarah Read Ives, aged 80, wife of Eugene A. Ives and daughter of Dr. 
Joseph E. and Eliza Old Read, a native of Norfolk County, and a lifelong 
resident of this section, died at 9:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the 
residence, 416 Pembroke avenue. Mrs. Ives was a member of Ghent Methodist 
Episcopal Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Miss 
Lila E. Ives, of Norfolk; one son, Ernest L. Ives, American Consul General to 
Algiers, and one grandson, Timothy Read Ives.
Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason 
street, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. John W. Rustin, 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
