He was 72 years of age and passed away after a lingering illness covering a period of seven months duration. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Widgeon, Mrs. J.E. Guynn, Mrs. Jeanette Lewis; and two brothers, Messrs. Thomas and Jesse Ives. Arrangements for the funeral service were not completed last night, but will be announced tomorrow morning. ************************************************************** The funeral of the late David Ives, who died at the home of his nephew, J.L. Widgeon, 205 West Liberty street, Monday evening at 5:10 o'clock, will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock. He was a native of Portsmouth, where he lived nearly all his life. He was 71 years old and is survived by two brothers, Thomas Ives, of Portsmouth and Jesse Ives, of Florence, S.C. and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Widgeon, Norfolk; Mrs. Frank Guynn and Mrs. Jeanette Lewis, Portsmouth. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
