NORFOLK - Gladys Rose Marie Izzard of the 800 block of W. 35th St., died Aug. 28, 
2003, in Harbour Pointe Nursing Center.

Born in Norfolk, she did domestic work at the Naval Supply Center and was a member 
of Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel Izzard; three daughters, Sharon Thompson 
of Temecula, Calif., Patricia Edwards and Sonya Izzard, both of Norfolk; two sons, 
Jerome Edwards of Texas, Christopher Izzard of Norfolk; a sister, Joan Powell of 
LeMoore, Calif.; a brother, Dr. Joshua A.F. Edwards of Virginia Beach; 13 
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
She was predeceased by a son, Nathaniel Izzard II; her parents, Marie Williams and 
Joshua Edwards; and a brother, Edward Foreman.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Basilica of St. Mary of the 
Immaculate Conception. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The remains 
will be ready for viewing Tuesday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at 
1706 Vernon Drive at 11 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel, www.carlosahowardfuneralhome.com, is handling arrangements.
