Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday June 10, 1950
Mrs. Alice Brooke Jackson, 83, widow of Thomas Branch Jackson and daughter of 
the late William Hill Brooke and Mrs. Carissa Lawrence Brooke, died Thursday at 
11:45 p.m. at a Norfolk hospital  Mrs. Jackson was a native of Essex County and 
had been a resident of Norfolk for a number of years, residing at the Mary F. 
Ballentine Home at the time of her death. 
Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. W.R.L. Taylor, of Kansas City, Mo.; one 
son, J. Witham Jackson, of Edgewater, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Latne Sale, of 
Richmond and Mrs. Ellen Faunt Leroy, of Essex County; nine grandchildren and 
three nieces, Mrs. Robert C. McIntyre of Richmond, Mrs. Earl Townsend and Miss 
Alice Anderson, of Norfolk.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 2 
p.m. by the Rev. H.H. Martens, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, of which 
Mrs. Jackson was a member.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
