Norfolk Landmark December 30, 1898
Communication has been had with Baltimore in order to find the friends of the 
white man, Charles T. (sic) Jackson, who died in the Norfolk jail, but without 
success, and the funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the Rev. J. B. Merritt, 
Seamen's chaplain, officiating. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
