She was a daughter of the Rev. R. Bryan Grinnan and Mrs. Estelle Duryea Grinnan. She was an Episcopalian. She attended Randolph-Macon Women's College and received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary. She did graduate work at the University of Virginia and Duke University. She was a member of American Archeological Society and lectured on prehistoric art. She retired in 1967 from the Office of Secret Service of the U.S. Department of State and Central Intelligence Agency. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Garland T. McCoy of Arlington and Miss Frances Bland Jackson of Washington; a son, J. R. Bryan Jackson of Shaker Heights, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine G. Livesay of Norfolk and Mrs. Arthur Louis Cooke of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Dr. R. Bryan Grinnan Jr. of Norfolk; and six grandchildren. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk, to St. Paul's Episcopal Church for a funeral service Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Walton W. Davis. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at 5216 Edgewater Drive, Norfolk.
