The funeral of Ernest Jackson, 57, of 743 Johnson Avenue, was held at the St.
John’s AME Church with the pastor, the Rev. J. A. Young officiating, on Tuesday
March 8.  He died in a local hospital, March 5. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Mary Jackson.  He was a religious and fraternal leader in Norfolk and was an
employee of the Norfolk Navy Yard.  He was a Mason and an Elk, and a member of
the John M. Brown Church.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
