Virginian-Pilot June 20, 1942
Hampton, June 19. — Mrs. Ida Virginia Stevens Jacobs, 91, widow of Richard T. 
Jacobs, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Scott, Jr., 
175 Victoria avenue, after a brief illness. Mrs. Jacobs had made her home with 
Mrs. Scott for the past 16 years. She was born in Norfolk. Beside Mrs. Scott, she 
is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Bessie Rutter and Mrs. Virginia Gilbert, 
of Newport News. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Cox 
Funeral Home in Norfolk.
