 Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday June 8, 1949
Miss Grizzelle Leigh Jacocks died at the family residence, 407 South Main 
Street, Berkley, Monday at 7:35 p.m. after an illness of several weeks.  She 
was a member and worker of Memorial Methodist Church.  She was a native of 
Perquimans County, N.C., and came here when a child.  She was a daughter of 
the late Jonathan H. and Mrs. Mary K. Harrell Jacocks.  Her father, the 
first fuel dealer in the Southside, was a member of the early Town Council.
Surviving are one sister, Miss Estelle A. Jacocks, Norfolk; one brother, 
Henry M. Jacocks, Cradock.
The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue.  
Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Magnolia Cemetery today 
at 3:30 p.m.
