Jakeman, native of Norfolk, residing at 10551 Cambridge Cres., died Saturday at 6:25 a.m., at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Kecoughtan. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of American Legion Post 36, of Norfolk. Surviving him are two brothers, Arthur D. Jakeman of Norfolk and Raymond P. Jakeman of Irwin, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Petty of Durham, N.C., Mrs. Jennie Rice and Mrs. Edward L. Cooke, both of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Elmwood Cemetery Monday for services at the grave at 4:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Joel Whitten, pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church. Friends have been asked to omit flowers.
