James, widow of R.F. James, died early Sunday morning at the residence of her son-in-law, H.C. Paxson, Indian River Park, Norfolk County. She was78 years old. Mrs. James was the eldest daughter of the late Prof. Jean Odend'hal. She is survived by three sons, R.O. James of Washington, D.C., J.L. James and E.W. James of Norfolk and two daughters, Mrs. Kate E. Paxson and Miss Lena M. James; three brothers, Edward Odend'hal, Fortune Odend'hal, Joseph S. Odend'hal and three sisters, Mrs. J.B. Ferratt, Sr., Mrs. A.J. Newton and Mrs. J.V. Kirkham of Florence. The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Epworth Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. T.A. Snoot. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
