When Jimmie James died at age 94 at his home at 602 Goff street Oct. 12, he had 
spent 80 years of his life in Norfolk.

He was a native of Williamsburg but left that city at the tender age of 14.

A funeral service for Mr. James was held Oct. 15 at Union Congregational 
Christian Church with the Rev. James P. Copeland officiating.

Survivors include two sons, Charles and Ernest James of Norfolk;  a daughter, 
Mrs. Geneva Preston of New York and a brother, Knox James of New York.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home in charge.
