The Norfolk Virginian, January 07, 1897
The Bay Line Steamer brought down from Baltimore yesterday morning, the 
remains of Miss Columbia James of Norfolk, who died last Sunday at Johns and 
were removed to her late residence, No. 34 Fenchurch Street, where the funeral 
was held at 3:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Rev. Dr. M. B. Wharton, pastor 
of Freemason Street Baptist Church was the officiating minister there and at 
the grave in Elmwood.
