Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday January 1, 1953
Howard C. James, 70, retired employee of the Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock 
Corporation, died yesterday at 4 a.m. at his residence, 1814 East Olney Road, 
after an illness of 14 months.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, he had resided in this section 12 years.  He was a son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C. James.  He is survived only by his wife, Mrs. Eva Rhoden 
James, of Norfolk.
The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where 
funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.  Burial will be in 
Riverside Memorial Park.
