Norfolk Virginian Sunday October 22, 1893

Yesterday morning at 1:25 o'clock Mrs. Jennie James died at the residence of 
her husband, Mr. John T. James, No. 18 Charles street, aged 37 years.  She 
had been sick at least twelve months and had suffered a great deal, yet she 
bore her afflictions patiently and was resigned to death.  She leaves 
besides her husband four sisters to miss and mourn her.  Her funeral will 
take place today at 2:30 p.m. from Queen Street Church, of which she had 
been a member for quite a period. Interment will take place in Berkley.

The funeral of Mrs. Jennie James, wife of Mr. John T. James, who died at the 
residence of her husband Saturday morning, took place Sunday afternoon at 
2:30 o'clock from the Queen Street M.E. Church.  The services were conducted 
by Rev. J.T. Whitley, the pastor, and the interment took place in Berkley.

Mrs. Jennie James, wife of Mr. John T. James, who died in Brambleton on 
Friday, was buried in Magnolia Cemetery Sunday afternoon.  Mrs. James was 
the sister of Mrs. L.N. Wood, of Berkley.
