James, who was stricken with paralysis some weeks since, died at her late residence on Church Street yesterday after a painful illness, in the 72d year of her age. The funeral of the deceased will take place at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Cumberland Street M.E. Church. ********* JAMES - At her late residence, No. 281 Church Street, after a lingering and painful illness, Mrs. ANN A. JAMES, in the 72d year of her age. Her funeral will take place THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON May 1, at 3:30 o'clock, from the Cumberland Street M.E. Church. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend. *********************************************** The funeral of the late Mrs. Ann A. James took place from the Cumberland Street M.E. Church yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was very largely attended. Rev. A.G. Brown, pastor of the church, conducted the funeral services, assisted by Rev. J.S. Hunter and Rev. Wm. L. Gravatt, after which the remains were borne to Elmwood Cemetery and interred. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messrs. Joel C. White, Dennis Etheridge, D.N. Deford, S.N. Brickhouse, Thomas Townsend, W.J. White, Joseph S. Hill and H.A. Tarrall.
