Virginian-Pilot July 20, 1921
Miss Betty (sic) Gladys James, 29 years old, died Monday night in a hospital at 
Charlottesville, Va., after a protracted illness. She was a daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Robert Lee James, of Bay Side, Princess Anne County. Besides her parents, she 
is survived by a sister, Miss Virginia James, of Princess Anne County, and two 
brothers, Earl and Edward James, both of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning at Hollomon's Funeral 

Apartments, 1801 Granby street. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

From her death certificate, she died on July 18, 1921.
