James Robert T. James, a well-known citizen of Norfolk, died yesterday morning at the Elks' National Home, Bedford City, Va., after a lingering illness, in his 84th year. At one time he was the proprietor of the old Mansion House in this city. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Annette Eley, of New York, and three sisters, Mrs. George W. Butt, Mrs. Indiana Godwon (sic) and Mrs. Alice D. Osborne, all of Norfolk. He was a member of the Norfolk Lodge of Elks. The funeral will take place at H. D. Oliver's funeral apartments, 610-612 East Freemason street, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial in Elmwood.
