The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, May 22, 1975

NEW YORK - Mrs. Geraldine James, 42, of 236 2nd Ave., the wife of Eugene James Sr.
and a native of Norfolk, died May 17 in a hospital.

She was a clerk in the New York Post Office.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Camilia Harris and Miss Wanda James, and a
son, Eugene James Jr.; all of New York; four sisters, Ms. Dorothy Carroll, Sylvia
Carroll, Jo Ann Carroll of Norfolk and Joyce Carroll of New York; six brothers, John
Whitfield of New York,  and Melvin Whitfield, Elliott Whitfield, Ronald Whitfield,
Leon Carroll, and Jerry Lee Carroll of Norfolk, and five grandchildren.

The body was sent to Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk, where a funeral service will be
held Saturday at 2 p.m. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be at 778
Pulaski St., Norfolk.
