Virginian Pilot Tuesday, April 22,1980
Norfolk - Mrs. Gladys James of 825 Goff St., Apt. 234, a native of Norfolk, died
Sunday in a hospital.

Mrs. James was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church and its prayer band. 
She also was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and Civic League of Hunters
Square.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Stiff of Portsmouth and Mrs. Shirley
Mitchell of Virginia Beach;  two sons, Clarence E. James of New York and Willie
James of Chesapeake;  a sister, Mrs. Ophelia Brown of New York;  eight
grandchildren;  and five great-grandchildren.

 A Wake service will be held in Graves Funeral Home Wednesday night from 7 to 8.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in First Calvary Baptist Church by Dr.
Johnnie White.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
