James, 723 Duke Street, which occurred at the home Sunday a.m. at 8:15 o'clock. Had he lived until Monday he would have been 15 years old. Eight years ago, when the epidemic of infantile paralysis raged in the city he was stricken with that malady and has since remained an invalid. Through all these years his sufferings have been borne with patience and beautiful Christian fortitude. His bright, cheery disposition endeared him to all who came in contact with him. His friends are counted by hundreds who will grieve to learn of his passing. He is survived by his devoted parents and sister, Miss Catherine James. The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence, with Rev. S.T. Senter officiating. ************** Norfolk Landmark October 9 1918 The funeral of Edward Walter James Jr., 18 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W.
