The Virginian Pilot Friday January 4. 1980
Virginia Beach - Mrs. Bessie Levengood Janssen, 95, of 5052 Madeira Road, the
widow of Capt. Alfred Janssen and a native of Pottstown, PA, died Wednesday in a
hospital.

She retired from Columbia Peanut Co. of Norfolk after 37 years. She was a member
of First Lutheran Church and was a charter member of its Business Women's Group,
serving as treasurer for 42 years.

Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Grace C. England of Atlanta; and two nephews,
the Rev. Grover Crosswell of Winston-Salem, NC, and Col. Horace A. Crosswell of
Atlanta.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Cox Funeral Chapel, Norfolk, by
the Rev. Marshall F. Mauney. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family
will have visitation at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m.
