Virginian-Pilot September 26, 1925
Mrs. Mary Etta Jarvis, aged 53, wife of William E. Jarvis, died suddenly last 
night at her residence, 333 West Princess Anne road, at 7:25 o'clock. She was a 
native of North Carolina, a daughter of the late Robert and Maggie Harrell 
Holland, hut had resided in this community for 25 years. Besides her husband, 
surviving her are two daughters, Misses Margaret and Catherine Jarvis; one son, 
Robert Jarvis; two brothers, C. E. Holland, of Norfolk, and W. R. Holland, of 
Gates County, N. C., and one sister, Mrs. J. A. Roundtree, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the funeral 
home of Derry & Reed, 346 West Princess Anne road. The Rev. Howard I. Stewart, 
pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
