Virginian-Pilot, October 14, 1899


Many friends in this city and elsewhere will learn with sorrow of the demise 
of Mrs. Caroline A. Jeffers, wife of A. Jeffers, editor and proprietor of the 
Cornucopia, departed this life at the family residence, No. 215 Willoughby 
Avenue, Brambleton Ward, at 10:25 a.m. yesterday, in the 54th year of her age. 
The deceased was a lady of endearing qualities, and highly esteemed by a large 
circle of friends and acquaintances. She was a devout and consistent 
Christian, a member of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, whence her funeral 
will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
