Norfolk Journal and Guide, Mar 31, 1962
Mrs. Helen Griffin Jeffries of 2808 Bickel street, who operated Jeffries Grill 
at 1626 Wilson road for five years, was given final rites Sunday at First 
Calvary Baptist Church.

The Rev. E. E. Griffin officiated at the service.  Interment was in Calvary 
Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Mrs. Jeffries was a Norfolk native.  Her survivors include her husband, Thomas 
Jeffries Sr.;  a daughter, Miss Marva V. Jeffries;  a son, Thomas E. Jeffries 
Jr.;  three sisters, Mrs. Lois Hodenette, Mrs. Emma Holloway, Mrs. Mary Gilliam;  
and three brothers, Herbert, Ernest and Solomon Griffin.
