A native of Belize, British Honduras, he was a son of Johnathan and Mrs. Caroline Jeffries. He came here to live in 1917. Before he retired, he operated the Sewells Point Service Station and Garage and a cleaning and pressing establishment. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Tidewater Lodge No. 106, A.F. and A.M., Alpha and Omega Consistory No. 9, and Shrine Arabia Temple No. 12, Portsmouth. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Jeffries; four brothers, Alfred, Donald, Edward and Harvey Jeffries; and a sister, Gladys Jeffries, of New York City. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.. at Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. Richard B. Martin, rector. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
