Eve was one of 15 children born to the late, Elbert and Mabel Lester. She died April 18, 2004, after a short illness. Eve was a former longtime employee of Jerrys Tavern and Bobbywoods in Norfolk. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Norfolk. She is survived by her devoted husband, Walter E. Jenkins Jr.; her son, Jesse Hall and his wife Brenda of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughter, JoAnn McCullin and her husband W.R. "Flash" of Palmyra, Va.; and four sisters and three brothers, Geneva Barker, Agnes Toler, Imogene Johnson, Eloise Savery, Ed Lester, Fred Lester and Milford Lester. She also leaves the families of three stepsons, Walter, Steve and Michael Jenkins of Suffolk; three grandchildren of Virginia Beach, Windee McCullin, Buffy Barefoot and her husband Jason and their two children, Aaron and Georgia and William "Weegie" McCullin and his wife Ame; four grandchildren of Florida, Kenneth, Donald, Vickie and Kim Hall; and a host of great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Eve was also the caretaker of a special little boy, Zachary Huber. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church by Father Brian Rafferty. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts.
