Jenkins III, 36, of Charlotte, N.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Jenkins Jr., of 518 Mowbray Arch, was fatally injured Monday about 2:30 p.m. when his car was wrecked near Charlotte. There were no other injuries in the one-vehicle crash. Relatives here received no details. A native of Norfolk, he attended city schools and later the University of Virginia. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He had been working several years in Charlotte and lived at 4014 Sulkirk Road. Besides his parents, surviving are his widow, Mrs. Antoinette Penello Jenkins; two sons, John B. Jenkins IV, 8, and David Wortham Jenkins, 2 weeks; and a daughter, Susan Frances Jenkins, 6; a brother, Charles E. Jenkins II of Norfolk, student at Washington & Lee University; and a sister, Mrs. M. Lee Payne of Norfolk. The funeral and burial will be in Norfolk at a time to be announced. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
