Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch December 5, 1955
William F. Jenkins, Sr., 69, husband of Mrs. Margaret Snow Jenkins and son of 
the late Benjamin F., and Mrs. Rebecca Jane Jenkins, died at a local hospital 
Saturday at 11:35 p.m.
Mr. Jenkins, a retired member of the City of Norfolk Fire Division, was a native 
of Gloucester County and a resident of Norfolk for the past 60 years, residing 
at 825 Spotswood Avenue at the time of his death.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William F. Jenkins, Jr., of 
Norfolk; six brothers, Thomas M., Stephen D., Eddie C., James, Edward T., and 
Benjamin Jenkins, all of Gloucester County, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Rebecca 
Jenkins, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Herbert W. Thomas, of Gloucester County.
Mr. Jenkins was a member of Elizabeth Lodge No. 34, A.F. & A.M.
Services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Tuesday at 11 a.m. 
by the Rev. George W. Amos, pastor of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church. Burial 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will assemble at 8575 Chesapeake 
Boulevard.
