The Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 26, 1948
Mrs. Eunice Wortham Jenkins, widow of John Benson Jenkins, prominent Norfolk 
attorney, died yesterday at 1 p.m. at her residence, 517 Fairfax Avenue.  She 
was 85 years old.
A native of Richmond, she was the daughter of Coleman and Mrs. Eunice Bailey 
Shepherd Wortham.  She came to Norfolk in January 1889 and had made her home 
here since that time.
At one time she was a member of the Woman's Club of Norfolk.
Surviving her are two sons, John B. Jenkins, Jr. and Charles E. Jenkins, of 
Norfolk, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the residence today at 3:30 p.m. by the 
Rev. Dr. Sparks W. Melton, pastor of the Freemason Street Baptist Church, of 
which she was a member.  Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
