Chesapeake - A funeral service for Ivory P. Jennette Sr., of 4115 Wake avenue 
was conducted Sept. 7 in New Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Oliver C. Welch 
officiated.

He was retired after 13 years at the Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek. He was 
a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and Lancaster Social Beneficial Lodge.

A native of Scranton, NC, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Nellie J. Jennette 
and a son of Pickett and Mrs. Alice Jennette.

Surviving are three sons, Ivory Jennette Jr., of Chesapeake, Milton Jennette of 
Norfolk, and Joseph Jennette of Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bailey of 
Yatesville, NC; and eight grandchildren.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
