Norfolk Virginian December 7, 1888
                            DEATH OF A VETERAN
Mr. George W. Jennings, a well-known citizen of Norfolk county, died at 4 o'clock 
Wednesday afternoon, at his residence, Lebanon, on Lambert's Point, at the age of 
68 years. Mr. Jennings was a veteran of the Mexican war, having been a member of 
Captain O. E. Edwards' company of volunteers, and also served during the late war. 
He was well-known in this city and had a number of personal friends here. His 
funeral will take place at 2 o'clock today from Zion's Church, Tanner's Creek 
District.
