Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, March 12, 1997 
Robert Wade ``Bob'' Jennings Sr., 72, of the 700 block of Avenue B, peacefully
departed this life Saturday, March 8, 1997, at his residence.

Mr. Jennings, the youngest of five siblings, was born to Henry and Zettie
Ballard Jennings of Lebanon, Tenn. He was the owner and operator of Bob Jennings
Burner Service for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his only son, Robert Wade Jennings Jr. He is
survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Beatrice Jones Jennings; four
daughters, Beatrice Jennings Garvin, Joy Jennings Gates, Vicki Jennings Flood
and Candy Jennings-Howard, all of Norfolk; brother, William Jennings of Detroit,
Mich.; a sister, Francis Jennings Gordon of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law,
Dorothy Phillips of Newark, N.J.; two sons-in-law, Charles Gates and Moses
Jennings-Howard; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A wake will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Graves Funeral Home,
Norfolk. A funeral will be held at noon Friday in Second Calvary Baptist Church,
Norfolk, conducted by Dr. Rev. G. Guns. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery .
