Norfolk - A funeral service for Mrs. Effie S. Jernigan of 1050 Tanner street
will be held Sunday at 12:45 p.m. in Queen Street Baptist Church by the Rev. J.
J. Freeman.  Burial will be in the family plot with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Jernigan, the widow of Charlie W. Jernigan, died May 22 in a hospital after
a long illness.  A native of Harrellsville, NC, she was a daughter of the late
Toney B. Sharp and Mrs. Hattie A. Sharp.  She was a member of Queen Street
Church and Lady Elks.

Surviving are a son, Elberson Jernigan of Norfolk;  two daughters, Mrs. Leronia
Smith of Norfolk and Mrs. Ethel J. Fields of New York;  two brothers, Bennie
Sharp of Harrellsville and Mosscoe Sharp of Bronx, NY;  a sister, Mrs. Otelia
Lassiter of Harrellsville;  and others.
