Virginian Pilot and The Ledger Star May 25, 1987

Louise Rose Jernigan, 79, of the 500 block of Downey Dr., died May 22, 1987, 
in a hospital.
Mrs. Jernigan, an Edenton, N.C. native, was a member of South Norfolk 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Jernigan; a daughter, Marie J. 
Goodwin of Virginia Beach; a son, James L. Jernigan, Jr. of Virginia Beach; 
a brother Roy Rose of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Magnolia 
Cemetery by the Rev. Frank Hughes, Jr.  Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel, is handling arrangements.
