He was a native of Cincinnati and had made his home in this section 28 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jochum. His only survivor is his wife, Mrs. Tillie Kirkwood Jochum. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1895, served on the U.S.S. Boston in the Spanish-American War, and was a chief petty officer during the World War. He was a member of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South Norfolk, pending funeral arrangements.
