Virginian-Pilot August 6, 1936
George John Barket, age 53 years, husband of Mary George Barket, and son of the 
late John, and Catherine Barket, a native of Syria and for the past 12 years a 
resident of Norfolk, died last night at 11 o’clock at a local hospital. Besides 
his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Waddet George Barket, Mrs. R. B. 
Hodges, and the Misses Zella George, and Ann George Barket; three sons, B. George, 
Nabbie George, and Joe George Barket, all of Norfolk; and one sister, Mrs. John 
Morin, of North Adams, Mass.; and ten grandchildren. Remains will be taken from 
the residence, 1001 Forty-third street, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, for 
funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
