The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday August 20, 1950
George Howell John, 60, of 4138 East Indian River Road, died yesterday at 1:45 
p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of one year. 

A native of Horton, he had resided in this section for nine years.  His late 
parents were Thomas and Mrs. Amelia John.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Jenkins John, one daughter, Mrs. George 
Alotis, and one son, Wray Neil John, all of Detroit, Mich.; six sisters, five 
brothers and three grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk.
