NORFOLK - Mrs. Mary George Decker John, 78, widow of George John, died Thursday at 
5 a.m. in her home, 1001 W. 43rd St.
A native of Lebanon, she lived in Norfolk 43 years. She was a daughter of Michael 
and Mrs. Rose Barkett Decker.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and its Blessed Virgin 
Sodality and Ladies of the Rosary.
Surviving are three sons, Nabbie G. John, Joe G. John and Barkett G. John of 
Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. R. B. Hodges of Norfolk, Mrs. George Monsour of 
Wilkes Barre, Pa., Mrs. J. E. Ferguson of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. George J. Green 
of Chicago; a brother, Joseph M. Decker of Norfolk; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30.
A funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Saturday at 10 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
