Norfolk Virginian November 10, 1896
The funeral of Mr. Richard Johnakin, who died at his home, No. 11 Cooke avenue, 
last Saturday morning, was held at the above residence Sunday afternoon at 3 
o'clock and was very largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. M. 
B. Wharton, of the Freemason Street Baptist Church, and the interment was in 
Elmwood Cemetery. There was a large and beautiful floral display.
